When Washoe, our beloved friend and family member, passed away we began looking for a way to honor her memory.  Washoe was the first chimpanzee to learn a human language (American Sign) and pass it on to her adopted son.  Her accomplishments over the last four decades have helped humans better understand their responsibilities to our fellow animals.  Because of her outstanding and unique qualities, we were delighted to learn about the one-of-a-kind remembrances that Art From Ashes creates.  The pieces that Art From Ashes created of Washoe are all beautiful.  Our Board members were touched and surprised when each was presented with an exquisite piece of art memorializing Washoe.  The work of Robert Burch will be treasured by all of us.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the compassion and support you have shown me and my beloved "Simon".  I received his two hearts today and they were packaged beautifully.  I also appreciate the photo cards you sent and the card reading "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure".  And these two hearts are treasured deeply.  As my friend and I looked at the hearts we cried and cried.  The  artist created a beautiful work of art. The way Simon's ashes were handled and the end result makes me feel as if you knew & loved him also.  Thank you very much.

-Sandy K, Escanaba, MI

I wanted to send along my heart-felt thanks to the entire team at Art From Ashes.  The remembrance pieces I gave as gifts during the 2007 holiday season were valued gifts that will be treasured by their recipients for many years to come.  You enable a unique and very special gift giving opportunity.  My Dad made, what I thought was a rather astute observation, "It is one thing to have Willy's ashes on the mantel, but it is another, even better thing, to have something tactile to remember him with, it is a much better connection".  Many many thanks, I will definitely be placing more orders  in the future!

-Brett, Kennebunkport, ME

I want to thank you most deeply for your entire efforts connected with my order.  During the entire process you treated me with compassion and respect, even though our transaction was conducted primarily via mail and email, and I never felt anything less than the utmost in superb customer care. The finished pieces were stunning, and were so gratefully received and appreciated.  The recipients, myself included, will be eternally grateful.  I also thank you for the expedited time table in completing my order in time for the holidays. The total experience was more than satisfactory in every way.  I really didn't know what to expect from a small blurb in a magazine, but you far surpassed my expectations .Thanks again for everything you have done.

-David, Harrison, NY

I was not only impressed with the simplicity and beauty of my remembrance piece, but I so appreciated the gracious way in which the staff communicated with me and helped me through the process of ordering, collecting and mailing the ash sample, etc. What an incredible service. The remembrance piece I ordered was a gift to a family member, but it was so beautiful that I now plan to order another one for me. Thank you, Art From Ashes.

-Paula, Santa Rosa, CA

I received the piece the other day.  It is absolutely beautiful.  I am giving it to my mother for Christmas and it is such a representation of my brother.  He was an artist and lived on the beach.  The colors are perfect.  Thank you for all your help.

-Lynn, Richmond, VA

The only thing that can beat the caring, professional manner in which Art from Ashes treats its clients, is the actual product they deliver. When our “baby girl” golden retriever died we had her cremated and couldn't decide what to do with her ashes. The grieving process went on and on for us. I discovered Art from Ashes, thankfully, and we now have a most beautiful keepsake that allows us to celebrate her life, once again. I cannot say enough about the Art from Ashes people, their quality control, and their choice of artists who create such beautiful remembrances. THANK YOU ALL from us and our Daphne.

-Nancy B., Easthampton, MA

For nine years I had my mother’s ashes in a drawer, unsure how to display them. I wanted something evocative of my mother, not a traditional urn. I’m so glad I discovered Art From Ashes. I ordered a cobalt blue perennial, which catches the sunlight on my windowsill. It’s vibrant and matches my mother’s personality. Thank you again for such a wonderful idea!

-Patty, Florence, MA

As a veterinarian, I find that the glass sculptures that Art From Ashes offer are unique, endearing, and tangible remembrances of our four-legged family members.  I recently commissioned a sculpture to memorialize my sister’s dog.  This piece is a replica of her dog’s favorite toy.  When I surprised her with the gift, it brought tears and laughter.  I know that when my sister looks upon it, it will invoke sweet memories.  I was impressed by the professionalism and compassion that the staff of Art From Ashes demonstrated and would highly recommend them to my clients when they are looking for that special remembrance.

-Michelle, Palmer, MA

Words cannot express how beautiful Lira's stone is.  I am so happy I happened upon your website.  Her stone tucks away perfectly inside my running/ fannypack and it gives me great pleasure to still be able to bring her along with me when I run.

-Karen, Saugus, CA

We LOVE the finished pieces. They're absolutely beautiful. The packaging and individual photos of each piece were a very nice touch as well as the inscription on the bottom of each piece with the artist's name and date. Over the holidays we had visitors and everyone admired the pieces. The mortuary asked us to provide them with information so they can offer this as an option to their clients.  Thanks again for your promptness, professionalism and exquisite work.

-Janet, Livermore, CA

We received paperweights as gifts for Christmas and are so grateful to be able to hold onto the memories of our dog, Toby. His ashes were tucked away on a shelf for 14 years and now we have a beautiful remembrance of him. We highly recommend Art from Ashes to all of our friends and family and anyone who has lost a family pet. What a terrific way to remember a beloved family member.

-Margaret, Liz, and Cay, Massachusetts

Just wanted to let you know my necklace is beautiful! It will be with me till the day I die. My Hunter is with me all the time right next to my heart. Your work is just something everyone who loses someone that they love should have. Thank you for the many memories I have of my great boy, Hunter.

-Jennifer, Athens, NY

What a remarkable concept.  The response from the person who received the remembrance piece was more than I would have imagined.

-Greg, Anaheim Hills, CA

I received my remembrance heart today. It is beautiful!!  What a wonderful way to keep my "Tyler" close. It will be two years ago December 23 that we lost him to illness. At 13 1/2 years old, he lived a fairly long and very happy life.  Thank you very much for providing such a wonderful means of remembering our "special four-legged friends".

-Patricia, Havre de Grace, MD

I was of course very upset when we lost Sarah and I was unsure what to do.  I had no idea what to do with her ashes.  When I read about Art From Ashes, I knew I had a beautiful way to remember her.  I just got the stone today and it's beautiful - thank you!

-Lorann, Clinton, IL

We have just received one of your pieces at our hospital. We think it is beautiful and a wonderful way to remember our friend Madame who lived for many years at our office.  Thank you!

-Noah's Ark Animal Hospital

The gifts were a big hit at Christmas.  I did a picture tribute to accompany the phoenix stones and beaded necklace - not a dry eye.  Thanks for your quality product!

-Cheryl, South Glastonbury, CT

I received my remembrance a few days ago, and just wanted to write you and let you know how beautiful my piece is!  It brought tears to my eyes.  The workmanship is impeccable.  Everyone who sees it is very impressed. Thank you again so much!

-Erica, Denver, PA

I received the 4 remembrances yesterday and I can't tell you how pleased with them I am!  The presentation is beautiful, and cards are thoughtful and very respectful of the product and its meaning.  I got tears in my eyes when I opened them and know they will be treasured by myself and my 3 siblings forever.  Thank you for your wonderful customer service for the incredible final works- your artist is very talented.  I will definitely recommend your site to anyone who might be interested in your unique pieces.

-Anne, Concord, NH

Thank you so very much!  The walking stick arrived today and we both just couldn't wait until Mother’s Day; we gave it to her as soon as it arrived!  She broke down in tears and hugged the walking stick like it was Tundra come home.  She was completely surprised and almost speechless. You have been remarkable in your attentiveness and spectacular in your service. I will recommend you to everyone I know.  You have been an inspiration in this whole ordeal for us.  Once again, it has truly been a pleasure being served by a company who has obviously cared about our loss.

-Joe S., Kansas

We would have never imagined that something so beautiful would come from the loss of our dog.  As funeral home owners we often receive requests about pet remembrances.  Art From Ashes' work is absolutely beautiful and a happy remembrance for our family.  We will not hesitate to recommend an Art From Ashes keepsake to the families we serve.

Losing the companionship and support of a loved pet is so difficult. Our dog Buddy was with us for 11 years and was a dear friend to both myself and especially my husband. After his death his ashes have remained in a wooden box on a shelf. Thanks to Art from Ashes Buddy's ashes have been placed into a beautiful paperweight which now sits on top of my husband’s desk. After seeing these pieces of art, I had to have my Buddy put into something special to be remembered and treasured always. Thank you to all the people at Art from Ashes for your kind support during the process. The paperweight was given at Father's Day and brought back so many beautiful memories of Buddy.

-Margaret from Cape Cod

I put my “Hidden Treasure” remembrance on my desk at work, thinking it would be something private that I would enjoy. I’ve been amazed by all of the positive comments I’ve received from people walking by. One thing I didn’t anticipate was how helpful it would be for me to talk about my memories with people, instead of keeping it all inside. Each time I look at my paperweight, I discover something new in the glass.

-Brian, Windsor Locks, CT

Our beloved Golden Retriever, Sunny, died several years ago and we had buried his ashes under his favorite tree in our backyard. I loved the idea of a glass remembrance for myself and my daughter, so I dug up his cremains and ordered two pieces. My daughter and I are so pleased to have remembrances of Sunny that we can hold and look at each day. We also still have Sunny's resting place under the tree in our yard.

-Eileen, Massachusetts

I’ve studied many cultures and am reminded of the Mexican tradition of The Three Deaths whenever a loss occurs. The first death is when the body ceases to function. The second death comes when the body is buried or cremated. The third death is when no one remembers or talks about the deceased. These wonderful remembrances from Art From Ashes help keep memories and stories alive! I’ll treasure my perfume bottle forever…

-Liz, New York, NY

I am so thankful that this idea was brought to me after my dog had passed on. We chose the blue heart to have as a remembrance of our dog. It is very beautiful and nice to hold. We had a gold box that was set high on a shelf, never brought down or really looked at.  This heart is held, shown off, and holds meaning for us. My children hold it from time to time and that is comforting to see. I even hear them sharing the story with friends and other family members. I would like to let other people know that if they are thinking of having one made for them it is the best tribute they could give to themselves and their family. WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA!
